In the beautiful mountains of Vermont, you will find the home
of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
In 1981, Robert Stiller, the company founder, while vacationing at a ski resort in Waitsfield, Vt. found a cup of coffee so good that he bought the company. At the time, Green Mountain was a small, specialty coffee store.
In 1989, Green Mountain Coffee formed an environmental committee to help guide them on conservation issues, a commitment that has remained strong with the company as it has grown. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. was formed in 1993, and an initial public offering was completed that September.
In the late 1990's, Green Mountain began investing heavily in the Keurig coffee company, and in 2006 Green Mountain completed its purchase of the single-cup coffee brewer manufacturer. Thanks to their ease of use and compatibility with a wide selection of Green Mountain coffees, K-Cups have quickly exploded in popularity, both in the home and in the office.
In addition to its tremendous growth as a company, Green Mountain Coffee has been recognized as a leader in the coffee industry for its award-winning coffee and socially responsible business practices. Coffee Distributing Corp. is proud to partner with Green Mountain Coffee as a preferred distributor in the tri-state area.
