The Newco AK-2 is a glass pot drip brewer system. It has two hot plates, with a master power switch as well as independent switches for each burner, to heat one or two pots of coffee.
The AK-2 has a narrow 8.5" wide "inline" design so that it takes up minimal space in your pantry. It is a pour-over model, featuring a ready light to indicate when optimal brew temperature has been reached.
As an alternative, automatic inline 2-burner machines are also available -- such as the Bloomfield 8540.
Drip coffee brewers became popular in the 1960's and are still widely used in offices and restaurants. They can make excellent coffee, but it will begin to lose its fresh taste after 20 minutes on the hot plate. The less coffee left in the pot, the faster it will deteriorate.
