Company History
Coffee Distributing Co. (CDC) was founded in 1963 by brothers Samuel and Louis Friedman, who entered the office coffee business with the acquisition of Coffee Dispensing Company in 1966.
By the mid-1980s, CDC had become the NY Metro area’s largest office beverage supplier by combining innovation with a devotion to providing superior service.
In 2011, the company became part of the Canteen Division of Compass Group USA, the leading foodservice management group worldwide with over 500,000 associates. Though now part of a huge company, CDC still operates with the same family-company focus on customer satisfaction that has made it the industry leader.

With 3 warehouses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, we send out over 60 delivery vehicles each business day, Coffee Distributing Co. services the entire New York tri-state area from Princeton, New Jersey to Fairfield County, Connecticut, and all of Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island and Westchester.
Are you outside the Tri-State area? No problem—as part of Canteen and Compass Group NA, CDC can provide nationwide coffee and pantry services through Canteen Refreshment Services. Services can be highly centralized with all calls and billing handled by a central management team or decentralized depending upon your company’s needs.
