And just like that, 2021 is coming to an end. Last year’s trend predictions included locally roasted coffee, non-dairy milk alternatives and lots of snack boxes- all which were spot on! 2022 will open many doors for new snack and beverage trends. Here’s what CDC thinks we can all expect to see trending in the snack and beverage industry next year.

Functional Sparkling Beverages

Kombucha is no longer the only fizzy drink with great health benefits. Yes, you heard that right! Welcome to the world of probiotic sodas and sparkling energy drinks. We believe that functional sparking beverages will be a hit next year! Try the trend by sipping on Olipop and Superfuel.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is made from a mixture of dried hibiscus flowers, leaves, and dark red calyces. It is mostly found in tea form; but since the rise in popularity, hibiscus can now be seen infused in water, yogurt and other snacks and beverages. Sip on hibiscus with brands like Rishi, MammaChia, Down To Earth and more!

Sustainable Snacks

Unfortunately, not all snacks are as ethical and eco-friendly as we might expect. Whether it’s made with tons of unknown ingredients, wrapped in toxic packaging, or made in an environment that puts its workers at risk, there’s a lot more going on with snacks than we may know. In 2022, you can expect to see more ethically and sustainably sourced brands coming into the spotlight. Snack on Bobo’s, Barnana, Quinn Snacks and Back to Nature to get ahead of the trend!

Coffee with A Cause

In 2022 enjoy craft coffees that make a difference! Support social causes and help make a difference to local or global communities by sipping on our Coffee with A Cause collection. The collection includes roasters such as Aspire CoffeeWorks, Afficionado Coffee Roasters, Counter Culture Coffee and BLK & BOLD.

Yuzu

Yuzu is a tart and sour tangerine-sized citrus fruit that’s mainly admired in parts of Asia. It is a versatile fruit that can be enjoyed in many different forms. Yuzu also has many health benefits, one being it is rich in antioxidants. Try our yuzu products like Rishi Organic Yuzu Peach Green Tea and Phocus Yuzu & Lime Sparkling Water to see if you can hop on this trend.
